HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Celebrating its 59,500 square-foot facility, Landmark Implement in Hastings opened the doors to the rebuilt building on Tuesday.
The company welcomed residents with tours, refreshments, company merchandise, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Hastings Chamber of Commerce.
Jason Vertin, location manager of Landmark Implement, said the rebuild took two years.
“We took occupancy in January,” Vertin said. “It took till now to do the grand opening because we had to take down the old building that was in front of us before we wanted to have a grand opening.“
This rebuild became necessary following a fire in July 2022, which forced the company to close for a short time and then reopen, but not in its full capacity until now.
Vertin expressed, “Today marks an exciting time for ownership, employees, and customers.”
“We got a lot of space to host meetings for company-wide, our shop is much larger than it was for,” Vertin said. “It’s air-conditioned, so we can keep our employees comfortable and efficient when they’re working. It gives us a lot more room, gives us the ability to serve our customers and employees better.“
The location kept their staff while adding support from within the company and adding some features from the old building, Vertin said.
“We’re also able to use some of the iron from the old location,” Vertin said. “We’re rebuilding it behind this facility as a training facility for our company-wide. This is kind of a central point, so it allows the opportunity to bring everybody here together to learn and grow in John Deere equipment.“
Troy Lorenzen, sales manager of Landmark Implement, added they’re proud and committed to meeting their customer needs with the new facility.
“Hastings is obviously a pretty key community that we serve,” Lorenzen said. “We’re privileged to deal with the customers here.”
